A national STEM curriculum provider had strong programs in districts across the country, but the proof lived in classrooms, not in its marketing. It needed real stories from the people closest to the work, showing how the programs changed things for educators, students and their communities. Districts needed that proof too: evidence that the programs they had invested in were working, to make the case for continued funding.
I built the full plan up front, from the strategy and story flow to how each piece would be used, then carried it through over eight months. I handled all outreach and wrote every interview question, interviewing up to six administrators, teachers and specialists in each of five districts. I stayed in close contact with every district through edits, photos, video and consent forms. I directed outside writers through each final story and worked with the designer until the PDFs matched the client’s brand. I also turned the interview footage into short clips for social media and landing pages, handling the editing, graphics, name titles and post-production myself.
The client and the districts were both very happy with the finished stories. The client is using them to show the impact of its programs in its marketing, and districts can use them to secure funding for these programs in the future.
