From a Denver gym to a global online fitness community

Grew social from zero to 6,000+ followers and YouTube to nearly 3,500 subscribers after taking the gym online

Why it mattered

My business partner and I launched Club Calisthenics in Denver as a first-of-its-kind calisthenics gym, with a marketing approach we could repeat and eventually franchise. Then COVID closed our doors. To survive, the business had to move entirely online and find members far beyond Denver.

How I tackled it

As co-founder and marketing manager, I wore every hat. I wrote all of our messaging and copy, built the messaging documents behind it, and created marketing materials for the website, social media and print. I also handled all PR and media relations. When we moved online, I helped film and edit our workout videos, grew our social channels from scratch, and partnered with some of the best calisthenics athletes in the world to keep our energy and momentum high.

How it turned out

Club Cal is now an online membership fitness company with members across the country and around the world, and it’s still growing. Our social following grew from zero to more than 6,000, our YouTube channel is nearing 3,500 subscribers, and some of our workout videos have passed 30,000 views.
